What is Bokashi Composting?
Bokashi composting is a unique method that utilizes beneficial microorganisms to ferment organic kitchen waste, transforming it into valuable compost. Unlike traditional composting, which can be messy and often requires outdoor space, bokashi composting is perfect for indoor use. It’s odor-free, pest-resistant, and produces compost that’s ready to be used in just a few weeks.

How to Bokashi: The Step-by-Step Process
Store your food scraps in the small bucket provided. Once full, transfer them to
the Bokashi Bucket and sprinkle with Bokashi bran. The bran is packed with
micro-organisms that ferment the food scraps.
Firmly press down the waste each time you add new scraps. Always keep the
lid on tight to keep air out, which helps the fermentation process.
Once or twice a week, drain any liquid that accumulates at the bottom. This liquid, often called "Bokashi tea," can be diluted with water in a 1:100 ratio and used as a natural fertilizer for your plants.
When your Bokashi Bucket is full, let it sit undisturbed for 1-2 weeks to complete the fermentation process. You can start a second bucket during this time if needed.
After fermenting, bury the contents in soil or add it to a compost bin. In about 2-4 weeks, you’ll have nutrient-rich compost ready for your plants.
